May 27 Birthdays: Amelia Bloomer, Rachel Carson and Isadora Duncan

Amelia Bloomer, women’s rights advocate
May 27, 1818-December 30, 1894

Active in the women’s rights movement, Bloomer’s name became synonymous with a new fashion piece of the time.
